Don't Loose Heart: by Hannah Blosser

November is the month of All Souls, when we remember those who have gone before us, and pray for those who may still be in Purgatory awaiting Heavenly joy. November is also election month. This past Tuesday, November 8th, the midterm elections took place once again here in the U.S. Many pro-choice politicians have been elected this term, and many states have implemented amendments to their constitutions regarding abortion. While it may be depressing or even infuriating that these things are happening, I want to encourage you to take heart.

With the overturn of Roe vs. Wade in June, the issue of abortion was brought to the state and local levels. We in the pro-life movement rejoiced at our national victory, but knew that we still had work to do. After Roe was overturned nationally, many states immediately declared that they would be legalizing abortion in their constitutions. Here in Michigan, the abortion amendment is known as Proposal 3, which was just voted into our constitution.

Amendments such as Proposal 3 legalize abortion at the state level to varying degrees. For example, now women in Michigan are legally permitted to obtain an abortion up to the point of birth, and young women may do so without parental consent or knowledge. It’s disappointing, horrifying, and depressing that U.S. citizens could even think about voting for such a proposal. But do not lose faith. Some good may come out of these things.

Now that abortion is legalized in several state constitutions, pro-lifers are becoming more incentivized to act. This fight for life unites us in a spirit of camaraderie, and at the same time brings us closer to Our Lord. There are many ways to resist the evil that we see appearing in current political affairs. First of all, keep praying. Pray the Rosary. Our Lady never fails to help her children when they call upon her. Second, consider writing to your local representative about implementing pro-life legislation. You may feel that your efforts aren’t doing anything, but you can never tell. One letter might be all it takes to change someone’s heart and mind. Third, don’t lose heart. Keep up a spirit of Christian joy and charity. A kind word or a smile can brighten someone’s day, even when the state of the world is bringing them down.

To conclude, here is one of my favorite Bible verses, one that is fitting for these times: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

This is a statue in the church of St. Agostino in Rome. It's of the Blessed Virgin, and woman who wish to conceive go and pray there. There are walls covered with offerings people have left in thanksgiving, with the names of the babies they had through her intersession.

Prayers:

November is the month of All Souls. Please keep the souls in Purgatory in your prayers throughout this month, especially those of family, friends, and souls that others forget to pray for. “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.”

Prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory by St. Gertrude the Great

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

Pro-Life Quotes:

"Pro-life feminists believe in women and their ability. Pro-choice feminists only see women as weak and something to be exploited" – Abby Johnson

"The 'life' in 'pro-life' denotes not the quality of life but life itself." – John Shimkus

"I think at the heart of the pro-life movement is the idea that all people are created equal, endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights starting with life." – Mike Huckabee

Planned Parenthood's New Facility on Wheels

Planned Parenthood has decided to one-up themselves in poor decision-making and put abortion on demand in a van. It's a pastel blue RV with the words “Mobile Health Clinic” on it. The van is a part of the Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, and it will begin travelling to the border of Illinois soon, packed with Chemical Abortion pills. LaQuetta Cooper, the healthcare operations director, explained that the purpose of the van is to ensure that abortion-seeking women have less time in between deciding to get an abortion and actually receiving the abortion.

Notre Dame Professor Works Around Indiana Law & Catholic Values to Arrange Student Abortions

Pro-abortion academics have shown time and again that they don’t care if abortion is safe or legal — they will promote it to students anyways— and a pro-abortion professor at the University of Notre Dame  in Indiana has recently revealed that she also isn’t concerned about violating the principles held by her Catholic institution. Although UND actually received an A+ rating during the Christian Schools Project for the “promotion of nonviolent abortion alternatives…while simultaneously not promoting Planned Parenthood or abortion services,” it appears that UND professor Tamara Kay is straying from the university’s high ideals. After the state of Indiana passed a restrictive abortion law (which is in a temporary suspension currently), Kay began to conspire to “help” students around campus procure abortions.

Biden Administration Slapped with Lawsuit Over Chemical Abortion Pills

The Biden Administration has recently been sued over a suspicious failure to provide information about the effect of Chemical Abortion pills. The lawsuit was recently put forth by a conservative organization called Judicial Watch. Not only does Judicial Watch want to understand the steps that were taken to ensure this drug is actually safe for women (which studies show it is not), but the organization also highlighted some other shady aspects of Chemical Abortion pills they want answers to.
