The Greatest Pro-Life Activist–Jesus Christ: by Sofia Niekrewicz

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, was born on Christmas thousands of years ago. He began as a fetus in Mary’s womb, just like how you and I began in our parents’ wombs. He was a vulnerable babe. Not only was He physically defenseless during His infancy, but He was also the Messiah. He was the Messiah the moment He was conceived. Our Savior was brought into this world so that we may have eternal life with Him in heaven. He was brought into this world fully human as all children who are conceived are, no matter if those children have been aborted or have seen the light of day.

I’m sure Jesus grew up like the average child of that day and age: helping His parents, goofing around, not wanting to go to sleep, etc. Nevertheless, His life became much more than average. He began preaching, performing miracles, and even found a friend group: the Twelve Disciples. We’re all called to do the same (minus the miracles). We’re called to spread the truth, whether that’s the Gospel, charitable words, or the reality of abortion.

Even though Jesus wasn’t signing all these anti-abortion petitions and attending pro-life events like us now, He was curing illnesses, healing wounds, and even raised Lazarus from the dead. What can be more pro-life than that? Our Savor was the greatest pro-life activist of His time. Actually, He was the greatest pro-life activist of all of time, and no one could possibly beat His feats in the future. Jesus died for every single one of us (past, present, and future) so that we may have everlasting life. No one could trump that.

If you ask a pro-choice person why abortion should be legal, there are 2 types of reasons they may give you.

  1. A fetus is not a person.
  2. What about women who have been X, or X is a problem?

The mistake a lot of pro-lifers make is they try to argue about X instead of taking the question back to 1: is a fetus a person? Here is a key to doing that.

Agree: You need to start by agreeing. If someone says, “What about women in poverty?” don’t respond with, “They can put them up for adoption” or another such answer. Instead, say, "X is a difficult situation" or something else of the sort. Or if it is something you don’t agree with, like overpopulation for example, say something like, “Let’s say for the sake of the argument that you are right and the world is overpopulated.”

Apply: Now you say something like, “Now tell me, would X justify killing a two-year-old?” If they say no, move on to the next step.

Ask: Ask something like this: “Why can’t you kill a two-year-old?” They will usually say something like, “Well, you can’t kill people,” or if they see where you are going, “You, can’t kill born people.” Both of those answers get us where we want to be.

Anh: Oh, so the problem isn’t X. It is whether you can kill the unborn. Now we are where we want to be.

Short Advent Prayer

Lord, send down Your Spirit to guide me during Advent this year. May the Holy Spirit help me journey closer to You and lift me up when I feel down and led me when I feel lost. I may stumble at times, but I know my ultimate journey is to draw closer to You and build Your kingdom here on earth–a kingdom that Jesus’s birth, life and death helped secure. Amen.

Pro-Life Quotes:

“The fetus, though enclosed in the womb of its mother, is already a human being, and it is a monstrous crime to rob it of the life which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man’s house is his place of most secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it has come to light.”– John Calvin

"Being 'pro-life' means standing up for all life, valuing all life." – Abby Johnson

"Never tire of firmly speaking out in defense of life from its conception, and do not be deterred from the commitment to defend the dignity of every human person with courageous determination. Christ is with you: be not afraid!" – St. John Paul II

What You Need to Know About the CDC’s New 2020 Abortion Report

The day before Thanksgiving this year (a time when many are rightfully distracted from the news by holiday preparations), the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released new, notable abortion data from 2020. In 2020, 46 states voluntarily reported abortion data to the CDC, and based upon the information volunteered, it was found that the abortion rate and the number of abortions both fell by two percent. If you’re thinking “Well, that’s not very much,” two things should be noted. One, every baby saved is a success. The pro-life movement celebrates the sustainment of life, no matter how small. Two, in comparison to data from 2018 and 2019 (both of which showed the abortion numbers increasing), 2020 is a happy sign of hope. Unfortunately, 2020 saw a frightening increase in the use of chemical abortion pills. In regard to the actual number of Chemical Abortions, there was an increase of 17.9% between 2019 and 2020. As for the percentage of all abortions that were Chemical Abortions, there was also a near ten percent increase, going from 43.7% in 2019 to 53.4% in 2020.

Happy Birthday to the World’s Eight Billionth Baby!

Birthdays are a special time to celebrate new life coming into the world, and our world has recently had the opportunity to commemorate the birthday of our eight billionth baby — a child who is just as special and valued as every person that came before them and who will come after them. As the abortion lobby chooses to disparage new life by complaining of a “population crisis,” members of the Pro-Life Generation should take this historic moment to be grateful for this new life in our world as we know that every single child is a gift. And that includes Baby Eight Billion!

New Pro-Life Lawsuit Calls Out the Chemical Abortion Pill

With the abortion lobby promoting Chemical Abortion pills as the new star of their ghoulish scheme, several medical organizations and individual medical professionals have pushed back by recently filing a lawsuit in federal court against their sale — and Students for Life of America (SFLA) is all for it. These life-ending pills are way beyond due for their day in court, and we are excited to follow this suit.
