Supporting Life by Genevieve Norris
Pregnancy centers play a crucial role in the pro-life movement, providing essential support to babies and their mothers during pregnancy and post-partum. These centers offer care when the mother might have otherwise aborted, making them a vital resource in advocating for life. Unfortunately, many people aren't aware of how easy it is to assist their local pregnancy centers in saving lives every day. Here are six ways you can help women at pregnancy centers and support the pro-life cause.

  1. Financial Donations - Donating money to a local pregnancy center is one of the simplest ways to support the pro-life cause. Charitable donations can be tax-deductible depending on the organization, and the center can use the funds to purchase exactly what they need. Many larger organizations also offer ways to donate monthly, providing consistent support to save lives.
  2. Volunteer Work - Volunteering at a pregnancy center is another impactful way to assist expecting mothers. Even if you're not a qualified medical professional, you can help with administrative tasks such as organization, scheduling, and data entry. If you are a certified doctor, offering medical services to a pregnancy center is an excellent way to support the pro-life movement while gaining valuable experience.
  3. Organize Fundraisers - If you lack the resources to donate financially, but still want to contribute, fundraisers are a great option. You could host bake sales, start a GoFundMe campaign, hold an auction, or create other fun community events to raise money for your local pregnancy center.
  4. Host Baby Showers - Similar to fundraising, hosting a baby shower brings the community together to support pregnant mothers. Collaborate with the mothers to create a registry of essential items such as diapers, bottles, and pacifiers. The community can then donate items off the registry, which will be wrapped and given to the mothers at their shower.
  5. Handmade Donations - Handmade baby items are cherished keepsakes that may become family heirlooms. Knitters, crocheters, and other fiber artists can create baby clothes, booties and hats for newborns at pregnancy centers. Additionally, crafting high quality swaddles, burp cloths, toys, and other non-clothing items can be a heartfelt contribution. Many mothers will deeply appreciate the time and effort put into these gifts for their new babies.
  6. Raise Awareness - For those unable to contribute financially, raising awareness about your local pregnancy center is a powerful way to support the cause. A simple social media post can inform others about the options available besides abortion. You can also distribute flyers and engage friends and family to help spread the word about the pro-life movement.

Many pregnancy centers operate as non-profit organizations and greatly appreciate any form of support they receive. Whether through donations, volunteering, or raising awareness, your contribution can make a significant difference. Please consider giving to your local pregnancy center in any way you can. Together, we can help save lives and support mothers in need.

Prayer:
Mary, Mother of all Life, help us to respect human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death.

Quotes:

"Abortion is profoundly anti-women. Three quarters of its victims are women: half the babies and all the mothers." - Blessed Teresa of Calcutta

"Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is [alive]. And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." - Ronald Reagan

"The so-called 'right to abortion' destroys the most basic bonds of love and asserts that the strong can kill the weak if they are an inconvenience." - Lila Rose

News:

Massachusetts announced the launch of a $1M ad campaign to warn women about the "dangers" of pro-life pregnancy clinics. The campaign, which is tax-payer funded, will include ads on the radio, billboards, transit, and social media. Massachusetts Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Robbie Goldstein stated, "Every day, individuals in the Commonwealth walk into anti-abortion centers unaware that these facilities are masquerading as comprehensive medical providers and pose a significant risk to the health and well-being of those seeking help, support, and options." Pray that Massachusetts citizens see the lies behind this despicable campaign and impact on pro-life pregnancy clinics is minimal.
