Motherhood and the Precious Blood: by Lydia Landry

Motherhood is not only a divine gift, it is an image of divine love and a sacred duty.
July is the month of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We honor His blood as the price of our salvation spilled upon Calvary, as our Eucharistic Drink upon the altar at Mass, and as a sign of His self-giving love to us. To spill one’s blood for someone by dying for him is noble, and, according to the Lord, “there is no greater love than this.” To spill one’s blood by giving birth to him represents a profound love as well. For the blood a mother sheds in childbirth symbolizes all the sacrifices she will make across her life for the good of her child. It is a sign of her self-giving love. Motherhood is an analogy for Divine Love; scripture uses this image more than once. The fact that Christ feeds us with His body and blood brings this point further home. Does a mother not feed us from her body during the months we spend in the womb? And did you know that a mother’s milk is a by-product of her blood? A mother’s self-giving love is the first opportunity a child has to understand the nature of true Christian love. And having a child allows a woman to represent the Divine Image profoundly. How sad, then, that women nowadays are robbed of that chance through the evils of contraception and abortion. How the evil one has twisted such a beautiful image, that instead of shedding her blood for her child, she sheds her child’s blood! But the Precious Blood of Jesus can redeem us from all these ills; let us pray and fast, and not lose hope, but entrust our cause to the Lord.

Roe v. Wade is Gone!

For almost 50 years, pro-life Americans have prayed for and worked towards a Post-Roe America, and now we are celebrating as Roe v. Wade has finally been given a tombstone that reads "1973-2022." But even though our nation has been ultimately freed from these egregiously wrong decisions through the Dobbs v. Jackson case, our movement is far from over—in fact, it’s a new playing field has only just begun. The abortion policy decision has been handed back to the states, and that means that our battleground is now entirely on the state level.

Planned Parenthood is Running the World's Creepiest Vacation Agency

Planned Parenthood now has a sector of their organization called “Patient Navigation” for the purpose of shipping abortion-seeking women from pro-life states, or other areas in which abortions are inaccessible, to abortion facilities across the nation. These plans include scheduling the abortion appointments and putting women on Greyhound buses or some other form of transportation—which doesn’t sound like the most comfortable thing after an abortion which often leaves women experiencing extreme discomfort. who wants to go through the traumatic experience of an abortion and then sit for hours on a Greyhound bus? For the record, Greyhound has less than two stars on TripAdvisor, and the most recent reviews say Greyhound buses are “horrendous” and “always a nightmare.” Not exactly the place a woman wants to suffer through the aftermath of her painful and traumatic abortion—and yet somehow the abortion industry flippantly labels these life-ending and life-altering trips as euphemistic vacations of a sort.

3. Quotes & Literary Passages: We are also looking for any topically relevant quotes or literary passages to fill a segment of the newsletter. Anything from a simple sentence spoken by a saint to a paragraph from a book can be accepted.
