My generation, Gen Z as we’re generally referred to, seems to have an even deeper commitment to defending the unborn. Perhaps this is because we realize how many children of our generation are missing due to abortion.

Unstoppable: The National March for Life, 2023 (by Hannah Blosser)

Many wondered if there would be a March for Life this year. After all, Roe was overturned last June. What would pro-lifers be marching for? Well, there was indeed a March in Washington DC on January 20th, on what would’ve been the 50th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade ruling. While there may have been less people than in previous years, the 2023 March for Life was charged with a joyful sense of victory and a feeling that this is only the beginning of the next chapter of the pro-life movement.

This year I especially noticed the number of young adults, ranging from high school freshman to grad students, who were marching for life (including our amazing HSC group!). Young people have always made up a great portion of the pro-life movement, but these seem different. My generation, Gen Z as we’re generally referred to, seems to have an even deeper commitment to defending the unborn. Perhaps this is because we realize how many children of our generation are missing due to abortion. This distressing fact hit me last year when I attended the National Pro-Life Summit, and was brought to my attention again recently. So many are missing. Children who could’ve been our friends, who could’ve grown up to have amazing careers and beautiful families of their own.

Seeing all these young adults marching in DC sparked a new hope within myself and others. Even though Roe was overturned and many have been led to believe that the fight for life is over, this generation is continuing to stand strong. We’re adapting to this new chapter of the pro-life movement and preparing ourselves for the fresh battles it will bring.

The theme of the National Pro-Life Summit this year was Unstoppable. I think that is a good word to keep in mind as we move forward. People said that overturning Roe would be impossible. Yet, by the grace of God, it was overturned. When Shawn Carney founded 40 Days for Life, people told him it would be impossible to get that many people to stand vigil for life. But he succeeded, and founded what is now the largest pro-life organization in the world. As pro-lifers, we know for certain that life begins at conception, and that every single life matters. This is a truth we have been fighting to protect for decades, even though our efforts have often been deemed impossible. No one, not even the most powerful politicians or health officials, can stop the truth. It is unstoppable. We, the pro-life generation, are unstoppable.

So, I want to encourage all of you, especially the young people reading this: go for the impossible. What’s the worst that can happen? If you fail the first time, get up and try again. Pray in front of that abortion clinic. Volunteer at that pregnancy resource center. Protest against the abortion proposal in your state. Start a pro-life group at your school or co-op. It may seem daunting and impossible at first, but go for it anyway. Be unstoppable.

“For nothing will be impossible with God.” ~ Luke 1:37 ESV

Poem:

Lullaby: by Isabella Bettinelli

Oh little baby who never did wrong

Oh little baby, for you we sing this song

Voices upraised, weaving in song

Oh come children, sing along

Sing for those who never will weep

Sing for those in eternal sleep.

Prayers:

Prayer to the Holy Family

Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
in you we contemplate
the splendor of true love; to you we turn with trust.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
grant that our families too
may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel
and small domestic churches.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
may families never again experience violence, rejection and division;
may all who have been hurt or scandalized find ready comfort and healing.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
make us once more mindful
of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its beauty in God’s plan.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Graciously hear our prayer.
Amen.

Pro-Life Quotes:

“Abortion is a profoundly immoral and unjust act: the taking of an innocent human life at its most defenseless. As Christians committed to justice and righteousness, we cannot stand by and just let that happen.” Dr. James Anderson

“My child lives in the face of every baby whose mother and father were encouraged to choose life because I chose to share my tragedy.” Olivia Gans

“We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life–the unborn–without diminishing the value of all human life.” Ronald Reagan

The FDA Just Changed Chemical Abortion Pill Regulations

On January 3, 2022, the FDA announced that it will be furthering Chemical Abortion Pill distribution by allowing local pharmacies to sell the life-ending drugs. This announcement means that individual doctors as well as any pharmacy can opt-in to this deadly distribution and get certified to prescribe Chemical Abortion Pills. Prior to this regulation change, the Chemical Abortion Pill mifepristone could only be dispensed by specialty physicians or limited mail order pharmacies. While this regulation change does give pharmacies the option to decide of whether to get certified in the distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills or not, it does look like this is a dangerous road towards the government making these same companies participate in distribution.

New Poll Shows Gen Z & Gen Y Are Against Biden’s Chemical Abortion Pill Schemes

Students for Life of America released its fourth, wide-ranging poll of the largest segment of voters in America – the Youth Vote (Gen Z & Gen Y) – finding once again that they reject the radical abortion extremism attributed to them. Again this year, almost 7 in 10 report they want limits on abortion. But by margins of more than 9 in 10, Gen Z & Gen Y voters reject the No Test, Online Distribution of Chemical Abortion Pills pushed by the Biden Administration.
